    It looks like the former editor of a geographical Atlas has reorganised the state into one of those charts that shows how much corn is produced in a given county, the ones with the various-size dots representing 10,000 bushels, 20,000, and so on.

  2. Actually it is remarkable, if we think of Virtrivius (via Alberti, and so on) and his notion of the circle as the boudaries of man’s measure. So, we get things like crop circles (the traces/residual marks of agricultural endeavors), domes, and doughnuts.

  3. Being from KS, I can tell you that it’s a lot greener and hillier than people realize… in the northeast anyway. From central KS on west through eastern Colorado, it’s pretty much a wasteland.
